Green Recovery Fund
Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park launched a £250,000 Green Recovery Fund in 2021-22 to help local communities and businesses recover from the pandemic in a sustainable way.
The Green Recovery Fund supported projects within the National Park that delivered against the outcomes in our National Park Partnership Plan and provided additional benefits for communities, voluntary groups, land managers, businesses, residents and registered charities across the National Park.
Over the past year, 14 grant offers totalling £214,524 were made to support a range of projects, including a green cycling hub in Drymen, a pilot for a 20-minute neighbourhood project, core paths improvements and increasing capacity for fresh fruit and vegetables in Killin.
Building on the success of the established annual National Park Grant Scheme, this is one way we have extended support in the drive for collective positive action on tackling climate and nature; supporting resilience across the National Park and enabling a sustainable recovery from the pandemic being key aims.
Our focus for this year is on supporting the successful applicants from the 2021-22 fund as they complete their various projects. As such, we are not launching a new Green Recovery Fund for 2022-23. We will be reviewing the scheme over the next few months with the hope of launching it again sometime in the future. Our small-scale Tree Planting Grant Scheme for 2022-23 has just been launched.
We will also continue to support communities with the preparation of Local Place Plans. Further information on this will be issued this summer.
